A Little History
Isle of Printing first opened doors in January 1997, to help preserve the practice of letterpress printing and incorporate it into the modern world. The majority of the shop's equipment came from founder Bryce McCloud's uncle, a letterpress printer and curator for the Tennessee State Museum.
The shop is a working museum, giving a home to equipment from letterpress print families throughout the United States. We believe strongly in the inherent worth of handmade objects and the traditional skills that go into making them. Isle of Printing enjoys sharing these passions with its customers as it merges art with commerce and design.
